D² Homes for the Homeless with JuanTe Dailey

In December 2019, I kept feeling the nudging from the Holy Spirit to support JuanTe Dailey’s mission of serving the homeless population. Dsquared Homes for the Homeless mission is focused on “Reframing Mental Health.” Thank you JuanTe for being a light to others in the community and giving your heart to those in need. You are a true example of what it means to Love Yourself to Life™.

“We are committed to the belief each human being is more than simply the episodes of his or her life, although for some, mental illness can prevent that truth from being clearly seen or experienced. To serve those who are without resources to help themselves live the fullness of their human dignity, their God-given right, is the mission of Dsquared. We take seriously this proverbial wisdom. “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act” (Pro 3.27)”  D² Homes for the Homeless For more information visit the website at https://dsquared4homeless.org/

Most people experiencing homelessness are individuals (67 percent). The remainder (33 percent) are people in families with children. Public policy has put a focus on additional subpopulations.

One of the subpopulations is youth who are under the age of 25 and living on their own (without parents or children). This group is 7 percent of the total homeless population. In recent years, coordinated efforts at all levels of government have also targeted veterans (7 percent of the total homeless population) and chronically homeless people (18 percent). This last group consists of people with disabilities who have been homeless for an extended period of time or repeatedly. (National Alliance to End Homelessness)

Social Distancing

Bored! Cabin Fever! Ready to Get Out of the House! No, I’m good!

Life has definitely changed from how it once was with having the freedom to go wherever we wanted whenever we wanted to now being in a place of social distancing due to COVID-19. For people who like being on the go, sheltering-in-place may be a challenge for them. For others, being at home and working from home is perfectly fine. If they had their way, it would be their choice to continue working from home and it wouldn’t bother them one bit.

Roses Are Beautiful, But They Still Have Thorns

Roses Are Beautiful, But They Still Have Thorns

Roses are beautiful, but they do have thorns.

Roses are beautiful but handled incorrectly, the stem will cause pain.

We are all roses! We are all beautiful! Yet, we’ve all experienced thorns in life. There are different reasons for us to experience thorns, but they are necessary for growth, correction, pulling down strongholds, breaking generational curses, lessons to be learned, and the list goes on and on. Whatever your reason for experiencing thorns, learn the lesson so that you don’t keep experiencing the same pain.
