In life, we all face negative things, challenges and difficulties that can throw us off course. Maybe you’ve experienced the loss of a job or a broken relationship. Maybe some negative words were spoken over you. Instead of dwelling on those things from the past, it’s important that we set our minds on things above and remember the good things that God has done in our lives. God knows that negative thoughts stop us in our tracks and sometimes they come out of nowhere! You can be driving down the street and see a billboard or a building you used to go to and suddenly all the difficult memories come flooding back. The apostle Paul said, “I’m writing to remind you…” In other words, he was saying, “We need to remember some things. We can’t let our thoughts go on auto pilot. We can’t fall into the temptation to dwell on the negative. We need to make the choice to focus on the good things.
Today, don’t get so busy doing life that you forget to celebrate the good. Remember your victories, successes, and joyful times. Remember, scripture tells us that He casts our sin as far is from the East is to the West and remembers them no more! If God remembers our mistakes no more, than we shouldn’t either!
