Are You Taking Care of YOU?

As we move through 2025, I have to ask—are you making sure you’re good? Are you truly loving on yourself the way you deserve? Because let’s be honest, as women, we’re so used to handling business, taking care of everybody else, and making things happen that we often forget to pour into ourselves. And that’s not okay.

We weren’t put on this earth just to work, hustle, and be there for everybody else. We are worthy of the same love, energy, and care that we so freely give to others. So let me remind you: self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.

Why Self-Care is Non-Negotiable

It’s easy to get caught up in the grind—handling work, raising kids, showing up for family, and trying to meet goals. But when was the last time you slowed down and checked in with yourself? When was the last time you truly sat in your peace and did something that filled you up?

Here’s the truth: We can’t keep pouring from an empty cup. Burnout, stress, and exhaustion don’t look good on us, and we don’t have to accept them as a way of life. Taking care of ourselves mentally, physically, and spiritually is not a luxury—it’s survival.

And let’s be real—women have been conditioned to be strong all the time. But strength isn’t about running yourself into the ground. True strength is knowing when to rest, when to set boundaries, and when to say, “I need a break.”

Five Powerful Rewards of Self-Care & Self-Love

If you’re wondering why self-care matters so much, let me put you on to what happens when you make yourself a priority:

Our Mental Health Thrives

Stress and anxiety don’t have to be our norm. When we prioritize our peace, our minds stay clear, and we operate from a place of confidence, not chaos.

Our Body Feels Good

We can’t keep running on fumes. When we rest, nourish our bodies and move with love, we’ll feel stronger, healthier, and more energized.

We Show Up as Our Best Self

Whether it’s at work, with family, or just in our daily lives, taking care of ourselves mean we’re showing up fully present, not exhausted and drained.

We Attract Better Energy

When we love ourselves deeply, we won’t entertain anything that doesn’t match our peace and worth. We’ll start saying no to drama and yes to what truly serves .us

Our Confidence Skyrockets

There’s a different glow that comes from a woman who takes care of herself. We walk different. We move different. We set the tone. And that’s powerful.

Be Intentional About Taking Care of ALL of You

Self-care isn’t just bubble baths and spa days (though those are great too). It’s about taking care of your whole self—mind, body, and spirit.

That means:

  • Setting Boundaries – You don’t have to be available 24/7. Say no when you need to.
  • Resting Without Guilt – Sleep. Relax. Breathe. Your body deserves it.
  • Feeding Your Soul – Pray, meditate, read, or just sit in stillness. Connect with what brings you peace.
  • Pouring Love Into Yourself Daily – Speak life over yourself, remind yourself of your worth, and protect your joy.

What God Says About Taking Care of YOU

God never asked us to run ourselves into the ground. He wants us to live fully, love ourselves, and operate from a place of wholeness. Let these scriptures be a reminder:

📖 Mark 12:31 – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” That means loving YOU is just as important.

📖 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit… Therefore honor God with your bodies.” Taking care of your health is honoring God.

📖 Philippians 4:6-7 – “Do not be anxious about anything… present your requests to God.” Your peace matters. Give your worries to Him.
