Who said…
“You will never be good enough. Nobody wants you. Who do you think you are? You’ll never amount to anything. Your past will always be here to remind you of the person you used to be. Nobody is going to agree to your idea. You’ll never be successful. You’re useless.”
Who said this? Did you? Have you ever spoken these words about yourself? I can’t even ask why you would speak such things over yourself. I’ve been there. I have experienced a realm of negative self-talk. I definitely have and believed every word of it. I spent many years thinking these thoughts and it only caused me to live at a level of destruction. While I was concerned about making sure everyone in my immediate environment was taken care of, I was severely neglecting to take care of myself. Through this time, I found myself on a downward spiral of darkness and brokenness.
Time for a Change
I found Him. Although He was never lost and had never left me. I found HIM….AGAIN!!! I found myself in Christ…again. I realized my identity was found in Him. I opened my heart and my hurt to Him to mend all of my brokenness and fill in the spaces of the wounds embedded within. There was no way for me to be a representative of Christ while walking around in a haze of darkness. Light and darkness cannot inhabit the same place. I had to make a choice and I chose to live. I choose to live completely for Him. I came to the realization that I had a purpose for life and that I needed to be dependent on God and trust everything that He has for me. I had to accept my past and know that the journey I am on will give Him the glory.
Renewed, Refreshed, & Repositioned
Today, I am a woman with a renewed relationship with God, a renewed mind, a renewed outlook and excitement for life. I am refreshed through His blood and His love. I am reminded that I can do all things through Him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13). I have been repositioned to be a light for His children. No longer do I live in darkness, but in His light.
